Giving Tuesday
This #GivingTuesday, you have an opportunity to make a commitment to City as Living Laboratory (CALL) that will stretch far beyond this holiday season.
This year has been a challenging one for CALL, as it has for so many other nonprofits. We stand steadfast at the intersection of the arts, sustainability, and the ideals of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion, critical things the Trump administration relentlessly strives to extinguish. But the chain of connection, knowledge, and creative ingenuity that makes our work meaningful and impactful has proven hard to break.
“When I founded CALL almost 15 years ago, I did so with the conviction that art’s power lies in its ability to transform passive observers into active participants. To fully address the pressing and complex challenges of our changing climate, artists must have a seat at the table. We need an array of creative voices across communities to engage their neighbors on issues such as flooding, air pollution, and contaminated water.”
-- Mary Miss
As we look forward to 2026, we stand at an inflection point. Federal funding cuts and a shifting cultural landscape demand the active participation of all those who understand the power of art and science. Rather than a one-time gift, consider helping to sustain CALL year-round by becoming a monthly donor.
In a moment of so much destruction and alienation, CALL brings people together. Our work has partnered artists, urban designers, scientists, and community leaders to build projects together that are making our cities more sustainable for future generations, instilling pride, and strengthening the fabric of our communities.
If you care about the arts and sustainability, please join us and DONATE TODAY! A private donor has stepped up for a special match: from right now through December 31, every gift will be matched dollar for dollar, up to $5,000.
YOUR GIFT SUPPORTS:
Artist and scientist-led WALKS that engage the public in raising awareness of the unseen and threatened aspects of their environment
WORKSHOPS for 30-40 community representatives to explore local environmental challenges and create a springboard for arts & design-based projects
PROJECTS by artists/designers which address local concerns and directly engage the community in meeting them
Year-round PROGRAMMING and community PARTNERSHIPS
Your gift will provide fundamental support for City as Living Laboratory while empowering a more creative and sustainable future. Please support this work by making a donation today.
With gratitude,
Mary Miss and the team at City as Living Laboratory
